Here goes my 2 cents worth.

The article by Elliott offers quite a strongly worded argument for the use of formative assessement in our lessons.

Personally I would go for a more balanced view as I think there is a place for both summative and formative assessment. The key difference will be what we want to measure and which type will better serve our purpose.

Must say it has been an enjoyable read.
